School Experience Programme

Do you think you want to be a teacher?

If you are interested in finding out more about exactly what a career in teaching will offer you the School Experience Programme could be a good starting point. The programme offers graduates with a First class, Upper Second or Lower Second honours degree in the following subjects:

  • Chemistry
  • Maths
  • Modern Foreign Languages
  • Physics

The opportunity to complete placement in school of between one and ten days. You can also apply if you are in the final year of study at university.

Initially, if you are interested in the School Experience Programme in the above subjects you should contact You will get the opportunity to state that you wish to complete your School Experience Programme at Brooke Weston Academy.

Gaining an insight into other subjects:

If you are interested in a career in teaching in other subjects which are not covered by the School Experience Programme, Brooke Weston Academy also offers you the opportunity to visit the academy and spend a day in the department of the subject of your choice. One you have completed your school experience at Brooke Weston we will support you in taking the next steps into your teacher training.

During your placement with us you will have the opportunity to spend time with our Professional Tutor with responsibility for Initial Teacher Training. The Professional Tutor will be able to discuss your individual needs and provide you with advice and guidance on the various training routes and options available to you.
